In the Guiness Book of World Records, you will find an entry for Michael C. Lynch, who, on March 31 2018, in Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida, at the age of 68 years, 161 days, became the oldest American football player to not only be playing for a semi-pro team, but on that day caught a touchdown pass. He was playing for the Southwest Florida Gladiators. He retired soon afterwards and wrote his autobiography, called The Golden Gladiator. When he was born, on October 21, 1949, Harry Truman was in office, Albert Einstein published his theory of gravity, and the average price for a gallon of gas was just over a quarter.

GEORGIA:
In Elberton, Georgia, (Northeast of Athens, close to the SC border) there USED to be a granite monument which came to be known as the American Stonehenge. Basically, in 1980, someone going by the name of Robert C. Christian commissioned this structure - which required precise astronomical positioning. These 19-foot-high slabs contained 10 commandments, carved in 8 modern languages and 4 dead ones. Here are the commandments. You tell us what you think this is all about:

There were a lot of conspiracy theories, among them that this was constructed by Satanists. Unfortunately on July 6, 2022, around 4am, some fucknut bombed the monument. The remains were donated to the Elberton Granite Association, and the land given back to its previous owner.

ILLINOIS:
The world’s known tallest man was born in 1918 in Alton, Illinois (a small city in Southern Illinois along the Mississippi River, near St. Louis, Missouri). His name was Robert Pershing Wadlow, and he grew to be 8 feet 11.1 inches (272 cm) tall, weighed 491 pounds, and wore a size 37 shoe. He had a hell of a life, touring with Ringling Brothers and with a shoe company, and was also a freemason. Unfortunately he died young, at age 22. He actually died after a faulty leg brace caused an infection in his ankle. He had to have surgery and a blood transfusion, but he also had an autoimmune disorder and it was just too much - he died in his sleep a few days later. They say that had he lived, he probably would have continued growing (FYI the gigantism was caused by an overproduction of HGH).

In Rockport, MA, north of Boston, near the coast along Sandy Bay, there is a house made of paper. It is cryptically called “The Paper House.” It was built by an engineer who wanted to build a summer home.The paper was meant to be insulation but he ended up making the whole thing out of it. This was 100 years ago, in 1922, and it still stands as a tourist attraction. The furniture is made of paper too, and there’s even a piano! 72 miles west of Austin TX you will find Luckenbach, population 13. The town was founded in the 1840s by German farmers. In the early 1900s it reached a population of almost 500, but by the 1960s it was a 3-person ghost town. However, the locals held on. They’re very proud. For such a small town, it’s got a big heart and a lot going on. Their motto is “Everybody's somebody in Luckenbach.” Today they still have a saloon, and they host big music festivals. Even Willie Nelson has performed there.
